menthol and balsamic notes
this will need to add depth to merit the upper end of my projected range but given the extended cellaring horizon
it’s a very attractive wine for drinking over the next decade
particularly for its level as there is plenty of personality and a lovely underlying tension
Noon, Eclipse Vintage:2001 menthol and balsamic notes(made from a blend of 60% grenache, 30% shiraz, 5% cabernet sauvignon and 5% graciano), Deep ruby. Pungent, intensely perfumed aromas of candied cherry, blueberry and rose. Deeply pitched black and blue fruit flavors show impressive energy and breadth, with zesty acidity adding lift. Finishes fresh and appealingly sweet, leaving floral and spice notes behind. Josh Raynolds
