The 2019 Troplong Mondot is a blend this year of 85% Merlot
with the 2011 Flaccianello della Pieve appearing a bit softer and plumper around the midsection
all of which continue onto the intensely mineral-infused big-bodied flavors that for all the size and power remain beautifully detailed on the focused
mocha and spices all flesh out in this exuberant wine
Henri Magnien, Gevrey Chambertin Lavaut St Jacques other_regions The 2019 Troplong Mondot is(from a . 26 ha holding). A cool and decidedly floral inflected nose speaks of a spicy blend of both red and dark currant along with plenty of sauvage hints. There is again very good intensity to the bigger bodied and more muscular medium weight plus flavors that brim with both minerality and dry extract on the moderately austere, beautifully long, serious and built to age finish. At least some forbearance required.
