The defining feature is Amami Dorozome (mud dyeing); a centuries old technique from Amami Oshima. The fabric is first dyed using plant based tannins from Techi trees, then repeatedly immersed in iron rich mud, creating a deep, natural brown tone with subtle variation and depth that synthetic dyes cant replicate. This
